Physicians Elemental Diet was created by doctors as a short-term program (2-3 weeks) for the dietary management of moderate to severe impaired gastrointestinal (GI) function, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). After five years of development, the result is a hypoallergenic formula containing no intact proteins, corn, or soy derived micro and macro-nutrients.
